My mentor, Kari Kidd, has jumped around doing different jobs throughout her life. She's worked in the arts (makeup artist, professional singer, scare actor), as well the food industry. Her first job was working for a local catering company in the town she grew up in. Kari has gained much knowledge about the food industry and how to conduct yourself within it in the more recent years, through her jobs bartending and working on various food trucks. Regarding her day-to-day life, she describes herself as family-oriented, which is a significant reason for her starting Hazel's Table. Though her love for serving food is a significant reason why she decided to start Hazel's Table, she was inspired by her daughter, Lily, who has Down Syndrome. Lily has shown interest in running her own ice-cream truck, and Kari wants to teach her life skills. What better way to do it than to give Lily the opportunity to take pride and ownership in her own family's ice-cream truck?
