Most Significant Challenge in Woodshop

My most significant learning that I have gone through thus far, honestly, is relearning how to read rulers/tape measures, and not being too insecure when using one. I have good ideas, I can whip up sketches to match the ideas, and I'm confident in my skill/ability to use the tools in woodshop to my advantage. But out of everything, by far, the measuring things accurately & precisely has been the most challenging thing for me to deal with. It's time consuming already, but I always second guess my measurements even when I write them down. I've misread the ruler so many times that it's not even funny. I've gotten better at it, and I feel a bit more confident now when taking measurements, but I've had to teach myself to just trust myself instead of quadruple-checking my measurements, because I think it would take less time for me to mess up one piece of wood and try it again with new measurements, than playing chicken with a ruler.
